Your Florida AC Maintenance Calendar

March 2026 · 4 min read

Florida's climate runs your AC harder than anywhere — 8+ months of heavy use per year. This month-by-month guide keeps your system running efficiently and prevents breakdowns.

Jan–Feb: filter + thermostat

Replace or clean your air filter. Review thermostat programming for the upcoming cooling season. Check outdoor unit for debris.

March: spring tune-up

The most important maintenance event. Schedule a professional tune-up BEFORE cooling season. Refrigerant check, coil cleaning, electrical inspection, drain line clearing. Do this in March before the April rush.

April–May: cooling prep

Ensure all vents are open and unobstructed. Clear 2 feet around the outdoor condenser. Pour vinegar down the condensate drain line. Check attic insulation.

June–August: peak vigilance

Change filter monthly during peak season. Rinse outdoor unit every 4-6 weeks. Watch for warning signs: noises, warm air, short cycling, ice on lines.

Sept–Oct: fall check

Air Care+ members get their second tune-up. Catch summer wear before it becomes a winter problem. Best time for replacement quotes — less demand, better pricing.

Nov–Dec: year-end

Replace filter. Test heating mode. Clear debris from outdoor unit. Review energy bills — if costs jumped, schedule a system evaluation.
